Which five teams are the best fits for point guard Rajon Rondo in 2016 NBA Free Agency?

Ever since LeBron’s “Decision” back in the summer of 2010, free agency has evolved into the NBA’s second season, possessing as much intrigue and drama as actual basketball games. With the cap rising from $67 million to $89 million this upcoming season and possibly to $108 million the following year, this annual spectacle will only continue to grow in size and absurdity.

This year is no different with superstar Kevin Durant serving as this year’s most desired target, along with valued commodities such as DeMar Derozan, Al Horford, and Hassan Whiteside garnering interest from numerous suitors.

However, this class offers very little in the way of point guard talent with Mike Conely and Rajon Rondo serving as the only two legitimate starters at the position.

After wearing out his stay in Boston and a disastrous 46-game tenure in Dallas, Rondo signed a one-year, $9.5 million deal with the Sacramento Kings before last season. Playing along side DeMarcus Cousins, Rondo had a bit of a revival, matching a career-high in assists with 11.7 per game and averaging a solid 11.9 points.

But, as it is with Rondo, with the good comes the bad. The former NBA champion was tagged with six technical fouls and was twice ejected in rather bizarre fashion last season.

Luckily for Rondo, a combination of his recent production and the relatively high demand for point guards will likely outweigh the coaching headaches he is known to provide when the free agency period begins July 1st.
