Al Horford is taking calls from throughout the NBA in free agency as he and the Hawks didn’t reach a deal early on Friday

If you’re in the market for a center in 2016 NBA free agency, one of the biggest (and possibly best) players available on the open market is undoubtedly Al Horford. Horford is one of the best two-way players in free agency at any position and apparently he’s going to be up for grabs in a major way.

According to a report from ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the Atlanta Hawks and Al Horford were not able to get a deal agreed upon after their first talks in 2016 NBA free agency. Now Horford is taking calls from “all over the league:”

The wording of that report is perhaps the most interesting thing to come from it. That the Hawks and Horford didn’t agree immediately shouldn’t surprise anyone as the big man should test the waters in free agency.

However, that he’s taking calls from throughout the NBA makes it seem as if Al Horford really is available to just about any team with deep pockets, a need at center, and that is trying to get on the phone with him.

Obviously there are eyes on Kevin Durant constantly in free agency in addition to a bevy of other players that could be changing teams and thus changing the landscape of the league. However, Horford’s decision could be one of the most impactful, so we’ll have to wait and see which of these calls he takes.
