The Charlotte Hornet’s forward has eliminated the Brooklyn Nets from the free agent discussion, and looks to return to Charlotte.

The NBA as a whole has lost their minds this free agency season, and with Kevin Durant still on the market, we likely aren’t done yet. One guy who is apparently staying home is the Charlotte Hornets forward Marvin Williams.

While Marvin Williams might be still looking at other teams in free agency, the Brooklyn Nets have been eliminated entirely.

Marvin Williams spent the first seven years of his career with the Atlanta Hawks before being traded to the Utah Jazz. After two years in Utah, Williams signed with the Hornets to a two year, 14 million deal. He had one of the best years in his career with the Hornets, and will likely look to remain in Charlotte for the foreseeable future.

The Brooklyn Nets are not without victory on the free agent front, signing veteran shooter Jeremy Lin and trading for Seton Hall star Isaiah Whitehead. The Nets need all the help they can get in this year’s free agency. They went 21-61 last year, and desperately need a semblance of defense if they’re going to be competitive.

The Nets are still a couple of years away. They couldn’t entice some of the bigger names in free agency onto their roster, and likely won’t be able to snag any bigger names next year either. The Nets have potential, but right now, that’s all they have: potential.
