5. New York Knicks

There’s roughly a 100 percent chance that you’re probably just laughing hysterically at the mere thought of the New York Knicks beating the Golden State Warriors. However, imagine for a second that Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah are able to stay healthy and are able to return to their former selves. Moreover, imagine that Carmelo Anthony too stays healthy and that Kristaps Porzingis takes a step forward. Now imagine that Jeff Hornacek coaches the role players as perfectly as possible.

Now aren’t the Knicks at least somewhat intriguing as to what they could be in terms of being a threat to defeating the Warriors in some kind of playoff series? My vote goes for yes.

Obviously expecting everything to go perfect for an NBA team that’s playing with fire and pieces that never have anything go well for them individually in recent years is setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. However, this all about best chances and the chance that everything works out ideally for the Knicks given what they’ve done this offseason gives them a better chance that then other 24 teams in the league not ahead of them on this list.

By all accounts, the Knicks experiment moving forward is going to fail and it’s going to go down in a blaze of glory. But if it doesn’t, they are a dangerous, dangerous team that could make more noise than anyone would imagine given the current perception.
