1. Cleveland Cavaliers

This is quite obvious considering that they’re the defending NBA champions and the fact that they have the best player in the world (who proved it in the Finals) in LeBron James, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are still the biggest threat in the league to the Golden State Warriors. No team outside of the Dubs can boast the top speed or the firepower that the Cavaliers can when it comes to James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.

Obviously that’s still not quite as daunting in terms of quality and star power as what the Warriors are now working with, but it’s undoubtedly the closest thing to it. When they’re clicking, the Cavaliers showed in the Finals and throughout the entire Eastern Conference Playoffs even that they can compete with the best of the best and even blow them away at times.

However, this could become even more interesting when you consider what’s going on with Dwyane Wade right now. Though the Cavaliers can’t offer him nearly the money that he’s looking for, you have to consider that he could chase another ring by creating a super team in the East to compete with the Warriors and theirs in the West. Either way, the Cavs have the best shot next season at taking down a seeming juggernaut.
