Move over baby ‘backs, Brett Favre is hitting ESPN’s QB Camp. Listen and learn!

Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre is visiting Jon Gruden’s QB Camp on ESPN for a one-on-one film session. SportsCenter Special: Gruden’s QB Camp – Brett Favre debuts July 21 at 7 pm ET on ESPN’s main channel. This is the first time Gruden has a Pro Football Hall of Famer on QB Camp – the usual fare is a quarterback prospect from the NFL Draft.

SportsCenter Special: Gruden’s QB Camp – Brett Favre is timed as a lead in to Favre’s actual induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 4; he was elected to the HoF in February.

According to the ESPN announcement, Favre and Gruden talk about Favre’s ‘ironman streak’, arm strength and toughness and his reputation as a gunslinger. Antonio Freeman, Favre’s Packers teammate and favored wide receiver, makes a “surprise” appearance on the program.

Gruden and Favre first met in the early 90s when Gruden was an assistant coach and wide receivers coach for the Green Bay Packers and Favre joined the team, becoming the starting quarterback.

When ESPN revealed SportsCenter Special: Gruden’s QB Camp, Gruden opined:

"Brett Favre epitomizes what a Hall of Fame football player is. He has all the stats, but what I like most is that he made everyone around him better. He has an enthusiasm for the game and this charismatic vibe that brings the team together. He can still sling it and he still has a photographic memory when it comes to the playbook and the personnel he played against. The only thing that disappoints me is that there aren’t many players in the league like him anymore."
