MLB All-Star Game 2016: 5 biggest AL snubs
By Brad Weiss
2. Trevor Bauer, SP, Cleveland Indians
Trevor Bauer has had an unbelievable season for the Cleveland Indians, and was a huge part of their incredible 14-game winning streak that was recently snapped by the Toronto Blue Jays. Atfer starting the season off in the bullpen, Bauer has turned into one of the top starters in the American League, and should be representing his league in the All-Star Game.
For Bauer, it has been a tale of two seasons, and the Indians are benefiting big time by his production. The former third overall selection by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2011 MLB Draft, Bauer was perfect in June, going 3-0 with a 2.01 earned run average.
Bauer put an exclamation point on June, tossing a complete game victory against the Tampa Bay Rays on June 22.
For the season, the right-hander has appeared in 19 games, making 12 starts, and currently is seventh in the American League in earned run average (3.02).
Bauer’s only chance of making his first All-Star game would be to replace someone due to injury, so it likely will not happen this year. However, he is establishing himself as one of the better starters in the game, and should be back in the running for a spot in the All-Star Game next year.
