The Golden State Warriors could be interested if Ray Allen decides to make a comeback.

Signing Kevin Durant has already caused the Golden State Warriors to make some salary cap moves. Though it will cause them to have to build a bench on the fly, they likely won’t have much trouble doing so because veterans will be interested in signing with them. Golden State isn’t messing around, as they have been linked to none other than Ray Allen.

Allen would be an incredible get for the Warriors. He would be getting very limited minutes, but Allen has proven that he can be effective no matter how much playing time he gets. Allen would also give the Warriors options. He would allow them to give Steph Curry and Klay Thompson the rest that perhaps they should have been given down the stretch.

It’s hard to imagine that the Warriors will have many late game situations when they need the big shot. However, Allen would give the Warriors an almost unfair number of options. Imagine trying to stop a team that can trot out Curry, Thompson, Allen, Durant and Draymond Green in a close game. Opponents would have to pick their poison.

Allen played an extremely huge role with the Heat despite getting limited minutes. They relied on him to give them offense off the bench and to be their savior come crunch time. Assuming Allen is willing to take the veteran minimum, it’s difficult to imagine the Warriors won’t at least give one of the best 3-point shooters ever a call.
