To continue building the bench of the Golden State Warriors, the franchise has agreed to terms with David West.

By adding Kevin Durant, the Golden State Warriors have pretty much become NBA’s super team. He joins two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, an elite scorer in Klay Thompson, and a solid, all-around player in Draymond Green. Add in possibly Zaza Pachulia starting at center and that’s a more than formidable starting lineup.

One concern was who the Warriors would be able to sign for their bench, given the limited cap room. They already picked up Pachulia and denounced the rights to all of their free agents, so their next step had to be creative.

As it turns out, this process of filling out the bench will be starting by signing David West, according to David Aldridge of NBA TV. West will reportedly sign for the veteran minimum.

West just did something similar last off-season, when he left the Indiana Pacers to take a pay cut with the San Antonio Spurs. While this team had the second-best record in the Western Conference in 2015-16, it was eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round of the playoffs.

Now the NBA veteran is taking yet another pay cut, only this time he’s receiving a tiny salary to join a super team. David West is looking for an NBA championship, and given the talent that’s already on this Warriors team, he stands a decent chance of receiving this in 2016-17.
