Identifying the top high salary and value first baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 7 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Anthony Rizzo, Cubs (5,200): Rizzo, now an All-Star for the third straight year, is simply destroying right-handed pitching this season. He’s hitting .323 with 14 of his 20 home runs against righties. This is, of course, terrible news for Atlanta Braves starter Lucas Harrell (1-0, 1.50 ERA), who will be making just his second start since 2014 on Thursday. Rizzo is an elite play.

Carlos Santana, Indians (5,100): Santana enters play Thursday riding a modest seven-game hitting streak, but he’s also homered three times already in the month of July. He’s reached double digits in DK points in four of his last six games and is in a good spot to do so again against New York Yankees right-hander Ivan Nova (5-5, 5.06 ERA).

High Value

Prince Fielder, Rangers (3,700): It’s been an ugly season for the six-time All-Star, but it’s worth noting that Fielder actually hit .273 in the month of June. That’s not great, but it’s nowhere near as bad as April (.207) or May (.183). Six of his eight home runs this season have come against right-handers, so the matchup with Minnesota Twins righty Tyler Duffey (4-6, 5.62) works in his favor.

Joe Mauer, Twins (3,500): Like Fielder, Mauer is another former All-Star whose best days are likely behind him. However, the former American League Most Valuable Player is on a nice run of late, having scored at least 12 DK points in three of his last four games. Mauer should be able to keep it rolling against Rangers righty Chi Chi Gonzalez (0-1, 9.53 ERA).
