Jeff Teague was traded to his hometown Indiana Pacers this off-season, and he did not have to look for a place to stay.

There are so many stories of professional athletes blowing through their money. Whether it is buying multiple houses, expensive cars, or opening businesses, the story is told again and again. For Indiana Pacers’ guard Jeff Teague, he plans to live a cost-effective lifestyle.

Teague grew up in Indianapolis, so moving in with his mom and dad is the plan for the upcoming season. The star guard bought a house in Atlanta when he was playing for the Hawks, so he gave the house that he bought in Indianapolis to his parents. He recently sold the house in Atlanta now that he is with the Pacers, so he will be moving in to his old house with his parents.

“I bought a home here some years back, and when I re-signed back with Atlanta, I just decided that I was going to live in Atlanta,” Teague said in an interview with Fox Sports 97.5 in Indianapolis. “And I just gave the house to my mom and dad. And now, I sold my house in Atlanta, so I’m moving back. So now I’m gonna live in my old house with my mom and dad.”

Teague plans to live with his parents for the entire season, which means he should be able to pocket much more of the $8 million dollar contract than he would have if he needed to rent a place.

The 28-year old Teague played his entire career with the Hawks after they drafted him with the 19th overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft. He made his first All-Star team in 2015, when he averaged 15.9 points and 7.0 assists per game.
