As MLB Trade Deadline sellers, what moves should the Oakland A’s be looking to make?

The 2016 season has not gone according to plan for the Oakland Athletics. At 38-51, the A’s currently sit in fourth-place in the American League West, 15.5 games behind the first-place Texas Rangers.

As the July 31st MLB Trade Deadline quickly approaches, the Athletics are likely to be one of the premier sellers on the trade market. They have plenty of interesting players who will be of interest to contending teams, and Billy Beane will undoubtedly be looking to make the most of this selling opportunity.

This is not the first time that Beane has led the Athletics into the seller’s market, and he is not afraid to be aggressive in order to add pieces who could impact the A’s ability to compete down the line.

Expect the A’s to be extremely active at the MLB Trade Deadline, with players who are set to hit free agency this coming offseason being most likely to be dealt. The A’s not only have strong rental options for contending teams, there are a handful of players under contract who they would theoretically be willing to move for the right price.

Those players will obviously be more difficult to pry away from Beane, but he has never been afraid to make a strong and aggressive move in the past. The A’s are undoubtedly going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch as we approach the MLB Trade Deadline.

Here are five possible trades that the A’s should make in their rebuilding efforts.
