Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 15 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Brian McCann, Yankees (4,900): McCann is finally starting to heat up. The veteran catcher enters play on Friday with a 10-game hitting streak, a stretch that includes four home runs and four games of double-digit DK points. He’ll look to keep that momentum going against Boston Red Sox knuckleballer Steven Wright (10-5, 2.68 ERA), who hasn’t been sharp in his last two starts.

Buster Posey, Giants (4,800): Posey has gotten the better of many pitchers over his major league career, but he’s had truly noteworthy success against San Diego Padres righty Andrew Cashner (3-7, 5.40 ERA). Posey is 12-for-28 (.429) with two doubles, two home runs and six RBIs against Cashner. Don’t overthink this one — Posey is a great play.

High Value

Salvador Perez, Royals (3,500): Much like Posey has had Cashner’s number throughout his career, Perez has had Justin Verlander’s number. The 2015 World Series MVP is 22-for-46 (.478) with seven doubles, two home runs and 13 RBIs in his career against Verlander. Those numbers are silly. Perez also homered in two of his final three games before the break, and then again in Tuesday’s All-Star Game. He’s a great value play on Friday.

Sandy Leon, Red Sox (3,300): Leon has become a regular name in this column space, but for good reason. He continues to post solid fantasy numbers with a price tag that rarely exceeds 3,000. Once again he’s a solid play on Friday in Yankee Stadium against struggling right-hander Michael Pineda (3-8, 5.38 ERA).
