Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 16 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

J.T. Realmuto, Marlins (5,100): Realmuto is quite pricey, but he’s quietly emerged as one of the top catchers in fantasy baseball. The 25-year-old has five hits over his last three games and five games of double-digit DK points since July 1. He’s crushing right-handed pitching (.353), which certainly bodes well for his matchup Saturday with St. Louis Cardinals veteran Adam Wainwright (8-5, 4.49 ERA).

Buster Posey, Giants (4,700): Posey has reached double digits in fantasy points four times since the calendar flipped to July. It could become five times after his Saturday matchup with San Diego Padres right-hander Luis Perdomo (3-4, 7.48 ERA). Perdomo allows a lot of baserunners (1.97 WHIP), something that a veteran team like San Francisco will exploit. Posey is a solid option.

High Value

James McCann, Tigers (3,500): McCann has proven himself to be a viable option anytime he faces left-handed pitching. The 26-year-old is batting .266 against southpaws this season, nearly 100 points higher than his average against righties. He’s 2-for-8 in his career against Kansas City Royals lefty Danny Duffy (4-1, 3.09 ERA). McCann’s better suited for GPPs, but he has upside.

Matt Wieters, Orioles (2,400): It’s been a quiet month so far for Wieters, who is just 4-for-32 since July 1. That has caused his price to plummet, which offers DFS players to chance to roster a talented catcher for well under his market price. Wieters is 8-for-23 (.348) with a double and two home runs against Tampa Bay Rays lefty Matt Moore (5-6, 4.46 ERA).
