High Value OF

Starling Marte-Pittsburgh Pirates (3,200): Marte has turned into a running threat with ten stolen bases in his last nine games.  He hasn’t collected multiple hits in any of those games and is just 8-39 (.205) in July, but his stolen bases have kept his fantasy value decent.  Marte is 1-5 in his career against Washington’s starter for tonight Tanner Roark, but that one hit was a home run.

Stephen Piscotty-St. Louis Cardinals (3,100): Piscotty hit his 12th homer of the season last night against the Marlins in the Cardinals 7-6 loss.  He is 14-41 (.341) in July with three of those homers coming already this month. He has hit .302 this year at home with a .901 OPS, so give him a look as he and the Cards face Tom Koehler and the Marlins tonight.

Kole Calhoun-Los Angeles Angels (3,000): Calhoun has hit safely in 11 straight games and is 12-42 (.286) so far in July.  He has a .745 OPS on the month and started the second have 1-4 with a double and an RBI last night. He usually hits right in front of Mike Trout, so gets plenty of good pitches to hit and opportunity to score runs when he does get aboard.

Cameron Maybin-Detroit Tigers (2,900): Maybin went 1-3 with a walk last night against the Royals for six fantasy points. He should be an even better play tonight as he takes on the Royals and Danny Duffy at Comerica. Maybin is 39-90 on the year at home (.433) with a homer and 13 RBI, and he is also 22-57 (.386) against lefties this year. He has never faced Danny Duffy, but all the splits point to him being a good play tonight at under 3K.

Jeff Francouer-Atlanta Braves (2,700): Another player with significantly better splits at home is the Braves’ Jeff Francouer. Francouer is 29-94 (.309) at home although all five of his home runs have come away from Turner Field.  He has started July 10-36 (.278) and has hit in eight straight games.  He finished the first half with back-to-back games with home runs and then went 1-4 with an RBI last night against the Rockies.  He’ll face Colorado again tonight as he takes on starting pitcher Chad Bettis.

Daniel Nava-Los Angeles Angels (2,100): As my cheap flier in the outfield tonight, I’m taking Daniel Nava who went 1-2 with a walk last night putting up nine fantasy points in the Angels win.  He has at least nine fantasy points in each of the last four games he has started and is 7-18 (.389) in limited action this month.  Since FanDuel rewards walks just like singles and extra-base hits, it’s good to know that Nava’s OPS is .673 on the year but 1.020 this month. Nava has good experience against tonight’s opponent James Shields as well coming into tonight 4-15 (.267) with a homer and two RBI. If starting-∗∗
