Greg Monroe remains on the trading block with Miles Plumlee resigning.

The Milwaukee Bucks seem to be an up and coming team with many talented young players. They also seem to be forming a “big three” with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker.

The first of the three, Giannis Antekounmpo, had a great second half of the season. As coach Jason Kidd entrusted him with the point guard duties and that turned Antetokounmpo into a dominant point-forward.

With shooting guard through power forward already set in Milwaukee, and point guard seemingly addressed with the signing of Matthew Dellavedova, now comes what should the Bucks do at center?

The Bucks believed that when they signed Monroe last season to a three-year $50 million deal, that he would be a mainstay in the lineup for at least three seasons. As he would open up the game for Antetokounmpo, Middleton and Parker and would help them develop. Though, that wasn’t the case last season as Monroe underwhelmed.

The forward/center’s numbers fell from the previous season as many thought that they would rise with all of the new talent around him in Milwaukee. Monroe averaged nearly 15 points and 9 rebounds a game last season, which is not bad, but the Bucks were probably expecting closer to 20 and 10.

In the midst of an underwhelming season during 2015-2016, the Bucks placed Greg Monroe on the trading block but didn’t find a suitor. Now with Miles Plumlee signing a four-year $50 million deal, Marc Stein’s league sources are saying that Monroe “remains available via trade”.
