Seth Rollins was taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the WWE Draft, being selected by WWE RAW

There had been more than enough anticipation for the WWE Draft with the start of Smackdown Live and rightfully so. The WWE Draft signifies a true turning point for the company with both shows being shown live and the brands being separated. However, perhaps the biggest source of intrigue was expectedly which superstars would go to which show and what order they would be taken.

However, there weren’t really any surprises at the very start of the draft, particularly with the first pick and WWE RAW.

With the first overall pick in the WWE Draft, Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley for WWE RAW selected the former WWE Champion, Seth Rollins:

If you’re going to look at this the way they have like a real draft, this was the only logical pick for the No. 1 overall selection in the WWE Draft. You’re talking about a guy that can entertain at any time and put on a good match with anyone. Moreover, you’re talking about a young guy with nothing but his best years and bigger stardom ahead.

As such, to see Seth Rollins be the top pick in the WWE Draft was somewhat expected and rightfully so. However, it was a bit jarring still when they immediately split up The Shield with Dean Ambrose going No. 2 overall to Smackdown.

If that’s how the WWE Draft is getting started, it could be a wild night in Worcester, MA.
