Roger Goodell’s public approval has never been lower, so here are five candidates that would be quality replacements for the NFL commissioner.

To say that Roger Goodell’s tenure as NFL commissioner has been tumultuous would be the understatement of a lifetime. His approach to player discipline, his inconsistency on a number of issues and many other things have made him ultimately hated by the fans.

From the way he handled Deflategate and Tom Brady’s subsequent suspension to his treatment of the domestic violences charges against Ray Rice, the commissioner has seemingly been intent on making every blunder possible. That has only been exacerbated by his response to the league’s growing concussion problem.

And while there’s no signs of it happening any time soon, and it seems NFL fans might be stuck with Goodell for the foreseeable future, it never hurts to dream a bit.

So what if Goodell stepped down and it was time to find a new NFL commissioner? If that glorious day were to come, who would be in line for the job?

In this dream world, these would be five candidates to replace Goodell as NFL commissioner.
