Here is a full list of all of the participating countries in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. 

The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro will be taking place from August 5 to August 21. During that time, countries from all over the world will be participating in the Olympics as they compete against each other in a variety of events.

206 different countries will be participating in the Olympics. There will be a “refugee nation” participating as well, including athletes from war torn countries not capable of fielding their own teams at this time. That is a new record for participation. Here are the 207 nations that will be competing in the Olympics as well as their abbreviations.
