The trade market for starting pitchers is quite awful. However, one could make the argument that the trade market for left-handed relievers is even weaker. Once you get past Aroldis Chapman, the rental market is quite weak. After Chapman, the next best left-handed reliever who will be a free agent after this season is Colorado Rockies southpaw Boone Logan.

Baltimore is quite familiar with Logan. The Orioles know him quite well from his days with the New York Yankees. Whether or not the O’s would be interested in him relies heavily on how he would affect the clubhouse. Chemistry and camaraderie are two things that the O’s care a lot about. Sure, Darren O’Day has become quite effective against lefties because he has recently added a changeup to his repertoire. Brad Brach gets virtually anyone out. Mychal Givens is a bit wild, but he is darn good at making bats miss. Logan would give the O’s bullpen, even more, depth. That’s a great thing considering the state of their rotation.
