2. Joique Bell

Bell is built fairly similarly to Jones, at 5’11”, 231 pounds, but he does have two 50-plus catch seasons on his resume from his four seasons with the Detroit Lions and he could step into a passing down role well. The writing was on the wall for Bell in Detroit, after a poor 2015 season, and the Lions released him and his $2.5 million salary cap hit soon after this league year started.

There are two main negatives surrounding Bell. One is his age since he’ll turn the dreaded 30 on Aug. 4. But the bigger deal is how ordinary he looked in limited work last season (3.5 yards per carry) after a couple offseason surgeries seemed to sap him of his full ability.

Bell made a visit to the Buffalo Bills after being released by the Lions in March, and that is the only reported interest he has had to this point. Being further removed from surgeries on his knee and Achilles’ can only help, so the Redskins could easily consider bringing Bell in for a workout.
