Identifying the top high salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 29 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jose Altuve, Astros (5,300): The majors’ leader in batting average (.357) is a viable play night in and night out. But his matchup Friday against Detroit Tigers left-hander Matt Boyd (1-2, 4.63 ERA) is particularly inviting. Altuve is hitting .361 against lefties this season, and he’s 1-for-3 against Boyd in his career. Altuve is one of Friday’s safest plays.

Jason Kipnis, Indians (4,900): Kipnis had his nine-game hitting streak snapped on Wednesday, but the chances are high that he will start a new one on Friday against Oakland Athletics right-hander Kendall Graveman (7-6, 4.15 ERA). Kipnis is hitting .295 with a .531 slugging percentage against righties this season.

High Value

Jonathan Schoop, Orioles (3,400): Schoop has been quiet of late, going hitless in his last three games. Friday’s series opener against the American League East rival Toronto Blue Jays offers a great chance for Schoop to break out. He’s 3-for-11 with a pair of home runs in his career against right-hander Marco Estrada (5-4, 2.94 ERA). There should be plenty of runs on the board in this matchup, and Schoop should reap the benefits.

Trea Turner, Nationals (3,300): Turner has been on an incredible roll since being called up in mid-July. He’s hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, but more impressively, he’s reached double-digit DK points in eight of his last nine games overall. Keep rolling with Turner until further notice, especially at such a discounted price.
