Starting off with an incredibly tough decision here between a pair of California boys at the quarterback position for the West. Both Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady could easily be argued for here.
Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time and may be the better choice on another roster. That being said, I chose Rodgers because at this point of their respective careers, he is the best natural play-maker of the two.
Also, Brady struggles with the deep ball at times. Having Brandin Cooks and Steve Smith lined up on the outside, the deep passing game will have undoubtedly be a big part of the West’s game plan. Rodgers is simply a better deep ball quarterback than Brady right now.
Doug Martin versus DeMarco Murray was another tough one at running back, but Martin gets the slight edge based on the performances of the two players last season. The West offensive line is not the best overall unit of the four regions, but left tackle Tyron Smith leads a strong group up front.
This is a strong overall unit that can attack a defense in a variety of ways. Julian Edelman and Delanie Walker can make plays in the short passing game, while the other two receivers make an impact deep, and Martin paces the rushing attack.
The other players are strong, but it is Rodgers who makes this all work so well.
