The MLB non-waiver deadline officially passed on Monday afternoon, which means teams can no longer call up a team and work out a specific trade with them to help each other out. However, the great thing about baseball is that trading does not end with the trade deadline.

With the non-waiver deadline past, teams will now be able to trade players through the waiver process. Simply put, if a team wishes to trade a player, they put said player through waivers and try to work out a deal with the team that claims that player.

It’s a process that often involves strategy and some teams trying to block others from being able to land a certain player through the waiver process. There were a bevy of moves before the deadline on Monday, which really has set some teams up to make a run at the playoffs and deep into October.

It also allowed some teams to finally begin rebuilding their franchises and acquiring the prospects necessary to do so. However, there are still some teams that maybe didn’t make a deal or enough moves of any kind to call it just yet.

With a month of trades still to go via the waiver process, these five teams should try to make a move over the next month.
