We’re another weekend closer to the start of the NFL season, but there are still chips that need to fall into place before we get too excited. The Hall of Fame game is right around the corner, and a few players are looking to secure jobs before we get too deep into August.
Reggie Bush is one of those players, and the Buffalo Bills might be a destination. Despite what our own Matt Verderame has habitually said about the city of Buffalo, it could be adding Bush as a resident before the end of Training Camp. According to reports, if Bush decides to continue his career in the NFL, it’s going to be with the Bills.
While players are trying to get jobs, some of those who already have them are trying to get paid. That’s what happened to Eric Fisher, who was given a $63 million extension by the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday. Not long after that, Houston Texans receiver — and only offensive weapon — walked out and began what ended up being a short-term holdout.
The holdout didn’t last long, as Hopkins returned to camp in the same weekend he walked out, but the message was clearly sent.
Meanwhile, Antonio Brown saw this little protest and decided to send the same message to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a slightly less aggressive manner. Brown publicly stated that he thinks he deserves a bigger contract but won’t be holding out to get one.
