DraftKings MLB: Top Bargain plays for August 2nd

Finding value can be the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail.” Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to provide a handful of players that could provide critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB slate.

We have a full 15 game slate tonight with two games having totals of ten or above. Detroit has the highest projected team total with 5.6 runs, followed by the Dodgers with 5.4 runs. There are a bunch of elite pitching options with 6 pitchers priced higher than $10,000. Here is a list of who you should consider when looking to save some money tonight.

Trea Turner – WSH (2B/OF) – $3400

Turner capitalized on facing a lefty last night where he had 2 hits, 2 RBI’s, 1 run, and 1 stolen base. He’ll get his shot at another lefty tonight, Ray. As long as he’s batting first again, he’ll have great value.

Jett Bandy – LAA (C) – $2700

Bandy (R) will get to face Manaea (L). Bandy has ridiculous splits with a .503 wOBA and .393 ISO split. Brandy has some power upside and no matter where he ends up in the lineup, he’s an extremely cheap option to check out.

John Jaso – PIT (1B) – $2500

Guess who’s back. He draws a righty tonight and if he’s batting 5th or higher, he’ll be a solid punt option.

Jayson Werth – WSH (OF) – $3900

You’ll find that many of the Washington starters are under priced. Washington has a projected team run total of 5 runs. Werth is a righty that holds a .424 wOBA against lefties.

Ben Revere – WSH (OF) – $3000

Revere a lefties, has reverse splits this season, where he’s batting with a .320 wOBA against lefties. Revere’s true value comes if he’s leading off for the Nats. Anytime you can get an extra at bat for a cheap price, it’s worth a look.

Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order. Follow me on Twitter @MattMcGarvey215, where I’ll try to update these plays the best I can!
