Ben Simmons has a lot of fans. As the number one draft pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Simmons will be expected to lead the Philadelphia 76ers back into relevancy. One of Simmons’ fans is pretty famous himself, and most people refer to him as POTUS.

It is no big secret that President Barack Obama is a huge basketball fan. Throughout his presidency, he has been seen playing pickup basketball with numerous stars, while also filling out his NCAA Tournament brackets for ESPN each year.

Screenwriter Michael H. Weber is a huge fan of the Sixers, and on Tuesday, he got to meet the President. Weber took this opportunity to ask President Obama about the 76ers, and he glowed about Simmons.

That was some high praise from the man who holds the highest office in the land. There is no doubt that Simmons will be a difference maker this season for the Sixers, and it is going to be interesting to see how his game translates to the NBA.

Weber went on to discuss the rumors that Obama may want to own an NBA team one day, and after the President laughed it off, Weber pressed on, and Obama said it could happen.

For Obama, the Sixers would be a great team to own. They have a nice young roster of talent, and have the potential to be contenders in a few years. The President will leave the White House in January, so he will have plenty of time to see Simmons and the rest of the Sixers take on the rest of the NBA this season.
