Leicester vs. Manchester United live stream: Watch the Community Shield online
Leicester face Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday in the Community Shield. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The clock never struck midnight for the Cinderellas of the Premier League in 2015-16, but Leicester have gotten off to a slow start this preseason, giving up four goals in losses to both PSG and Barcelona in the International Champions Cup. An extended summer schedule gave Leicester unprecedented global exposure, but it may also have fatigued some of their players. Though a season-long title hangover appears more likely without departed midfielder N’Golo Kante, Nampalys Mendy arrives from Nice looking to fill that void in defensive midfield. Additionally, the Foxes do still have Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Danny Drinkwater, who sat out the summer tour, and a return to England should give them a needed morale boost.
Manchester United will look to rebound from another disappointing season in which they finished fifth in the Premier League. Young guns Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw figure to feature more prominently this season alongside mainstays like Wayne Rooney, David De Gea and Chris Smalling. New addition Zlatan Ibrahimovic showed flashes of brilliance in preseason, and new manager Jose Mourinho will want to begin his tenure with the Red Devils in style. There is no better way to do that than with a trophy, though he has won the Community Shield only once in four tries.
