We’ll be taking a trip down memory lane later this year with the new Mini NES Classic Edition, and we couldn’t be anymore excited about reliving this legendary console once again. The original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) released back in 1983, and it was an instant classic. Introducing the world to video games like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, the NES is single-handedly responsible for revolutionizing the gaming industry.
With the new version being announced, many details were also revealed along with it, such as it being a much smaller console, the players being able to play with the same original NES remote, and how the console will come with 30 games built right into it. This week, brand new details were unveiled, and Game Rant has the scoop.
Game Rant transcribed an interview with Julie Gagnon, Nintendo of Canada communications manager, in La Terrasse ENERGIE, and she revealed a bunch of new info about the console, including new display options. Coming with an HDMI port, we’ll not only be able to play with a pixel perfect option, but the console will be able to simulate a CRT look, which pays homage to the 80s in a great way.

Another detail that was revealed were the save points that will be featured for every game. Not only will there be permanent save points, but there will also be instant temporary save points. For those who have played emulators on computers, then you’ll be very familiar with this feature since temporary save points will allow you to start right where you left off in the game.
The Mini NES Classic Edition will launch on November 11, 2016.
