Olympics rowing got off to a bumpy start on Sunday morning when the winds at the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon were so choppy that they were sending buoys into the lanes. The regatta had to be called off due to wind, and the races scheduled for Sunday will be split up between Monday and Tuesday. While the athletes were frustrated by the unexpected day off, it is understood that any sport played outside is subject to Mother Nature. Even if the event has to be postponed again, there is wiggle room built into the program so that regattas can be added to later dates.
