Cuban star in hot water again after viral video shows him in clubhouse celebration after a loss and partying at nightclub.

Yasiel Puig’s career with the Los Angeles Dodgers could be coming to an end after he was seen in a clubhouse video celebrating with teammates following his Triple-A team’s loss, in which the once-promising prospect proclaimed, “My team is so funny … We lose today and everybody’s happy” (per Fox Sports).

But wait, there’s more! Soon thereafter, clips surfaced showing Puig and others — at what appears to be a nightclub — drinking, dancing and yelling obscenities. All this after the 25-year-old Cuban he was dropped from the Dodgers and assigned to their epnymous Oklahoma City affiliate. The club, needless to say, was none too happy.

Puig’s demotion were partly due to his struggles at the plate, along with concerns that the mercurial slugger was not progressing as many believe he should. Truth be told, Puig has flat-out regressed in some areas. Being sent to the minors was supposed to be a reality check for the 2014 All Star. Instead, it might’ve sparked an even deeper tailspin.

Puig is as talented as any player to ever come out of Cuba, and huge things were expected of him when he broke into the majors in 2013. He’s the type of talent that plays with reckless abandon one day, and pure recklessness the next — throwing to wrong bases, getting thrown out on the basepaths; sometimes for trying to do too much, oftentimes for not caring at all.

While some would consider Puig’s antics to be little more than a young player enjoying what is, after all, a kids game, there’s a lack of seriousness to his demeanor that borders on the absurd. And it’s that propensity for oscillation — between being a site to behold to being downright infuriating to watch — that’s left the Dodgers to wonder if he will ever mature enough to become a solid major leaguer.
