Tim Tebow has won two college football championships, a Heisman trophy and an NFL playoff game. Now, it appears as though he is going to make an attempt at a career in professional baseball.

According to his agents Jimmy Sexton and Nick Kkan, the former NFL quarterback and current ESPN college football will be holding a tryout for all 30 MLB teams later this month, after working on his batting and fielding skills in both Arizona and Los Angeles for nearly a year.

“Obviously we support Tim in his pursuit of a baseball career, as we have in all his ventures,” Sexton told ESPN.com.

Of course, Twitter was there to give us all the reaction we could have ever wanted.

Tebow played baseball in high school and was an all-state outfielder in his junior year, sporting a .494 batting average and helping his Nease High School team reach the final four in the state of Florida.

Tebow is hardly the first NFL quarterback to sport a background in baseball. Most recently, #1 overall pick Jameis Winston, who won a national championship and Heisman trophy at Florida State in 2013, Winston spent time as an outfielder and pitcher for the Seminoles’ baseball team during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

It’s comes at no surprise that an athlete who hasn’t started in a competitive environment since 2012 is regaining that competitive itch. What is surprising, however, is Tebow’s reluctancy to adjudicate himself to his role as an SEC Network analyst. Since being released following the 2015 preseason, Tebow seemed to be a natural fit on the SEC Network’s “SEC Nation” college football pre-game show. It remains unclear whether or not Tebow will remain with the network despite the upcoming tryout.

However you feel about Tim Tebow, the NFL player, you have to commend Tim Tebow, the person, for not giving up on his aspirations of being a competitive athlete.

Although, we can already see Tebow throwing wild pitches and committing errors.

Lucky for him, there aren’t any ways to be intercepted in baseball. But no doubt, he will be the ‘Angel in the Outfield’ for us all.
