The US Women’s Gymnastics Team dominated the field at the 2016 Rio Olympics to win gold and Twitter was left in awe.

Next: 30 Olympic athletes who dominated their event

Artistic gymnastics is always one of the most exciting and polarizing events in the world when it comes to the Olympics. However, that was amplified by roughly 1,000 coming into the 2016 Rio Olympics with the US Women’s Gymnastics team dominating headlines around the world after winning all-around team gold in London back in 2012 and now adding arguably the greatest gymnast of all-time in Simone Biles to the team for the Rio Games.

Anchored by Biles and familiar faces such as Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas in addition to Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian, the US Women’s Gymnastics team didn’t just go out and win the gold medal in Rio—they destroyed the competition.

The US Women’s Gymnastics Team finished over 8.2 all-around points ahead of the second-place team in Russia, which equates to something like an NFL team winning by 70 points. It was a masterful performance that left everyone seeing it and seeing the results in awe—especially the users of Twitter.

Here’s a look at what the good people of Twitter had to say about the gold medal for the US Women’s Gymnastics squad:

There were some fans that were a bit perturbed that they had the results spoiled for them, but I think most fans of the US Women’s Gymnastics Team will settle for the fact that the girls won the gold medal.

In the grand scheme of things, that feels just slightly more important than whether or not you forgot to turn the push notifications from ESPN off on your phone.

Now we’ll move on to the individual events where the members of the US Women’s Gymnastics Team will look to get some individual hardware as well.
