When a Pirates fan went to catch a foul ball, he produced one of the best fails we have seen this season.

Admit it, sometimes baseball can get a tad boring. Even for fans of the sport, watching a game with not much action can make you a bit sleepy, maybe even lose interest. That’s what makes foul ball fails so glorious.

In the bottom of the fifth of Pirates vs. Padres, a Pittsburgh fan tried to one-hand a foul ball while holding nachos and a beer in the other hand. It was a bold attempt that ended horribly. Put an image in your head of what may have happened, then watch the video below.

It was a mighty brave effort, but there was no way this would have worked out. This dude had to stretch for that ball. There was no way the nachos weren’t going somewhere, and the fact that they ended up on his face make this one of the best foul ball fails in a long time.

Of course, this fail from Diamondbacks-Giants in early July is a gem as well.

For the Pirates fan, at least he could give the section around him–and probably everyone in the stadium, and us at home–a good laugh. He was even a good sport about it himself, and couldn’t help but to laugh as well.

Even though he won’t be going home with a souvenir from the game, he will have a story he can tell for the rest of his life, and surely get a few more laughs out of it.
