What is the Little League World Series format?

What is the tournament format for the Little League World Series?

The Little League World Series offers a spotlight for the best young players from all around the world to have a chance to shine and put themselves on the map in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

To get there, over 6,500 teams will compete to become eight regions in the United States and eight regions around the globe. From there, those teams will head to Pennsylvania and they will battle it out, with the United States winner and the International winner meeting for the championship.

Each bracket is divided into two pools of play. Those pools are double-elimination and the winners then meet in a single-elimination format until there is an international winner and a United States winner in the bracket.

With eight teams on each side and only two pools per bracket, the format of the Little League World Series is pretty simple to follow and it makes for a great, simple tournament of the best young players trying to make a name for themselves.

There have been many players in the MLB that have played in the Little League World Series and it has proven to be a launching pad for many careers.
