The 2016-17 NBA schedule for the Cleveland Cavaliers has been released

For the first time in over half of a century in the city of Cleveland, one of their teams in the Cleveland Cavaliers will enter a new NBA season as the reigning champions. LeBron James and company completed the epic comeback against the Golden State Warriors back in June. Now it’s time for James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love to get back on the road to trying to defend their title. We got the first look at the road they’ll take to do that with the release of the 2016-17 NBA schedule.

On Thursday, the Cleveland Cavaliers 2016-17 NBA schedule was released and the defending champs are going to get started with a bang. The Cavaliers will open their regular season on Oct. 25 with a matchup against the New York Knicks. Cleveland obviously has the edge in that matchup. However, there should be nothing but fireworks in excitement with the new-look Knicks facing the defending NBA and Eastern Conference Champions in the Cavaliers.

Also worthy of noting on the 2016-17 NBA schedule for the Cavaliers will be their first matchup with the Toronto Raptors. These two budding rivals will meet on Nov. 15 in Cleveland. That should be another game with all of the fireworks and fanfare. Moreover, they’ll also be in a matchup against the team they beat for the title on Christmas Day. That’s right; it’ll be Warriors vs Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena for the holiday.
