Round 1 of the 2016 Olympics men’s golf competition is in the books, as Australia’s Marcus Fraser shoots an incredible 8-under-63.

For the first time in 112 years, golf has returned to the Olympics, and the competition got started on Thursday. The men took to Olympic Golf Course for the first round of the tournament, as 60 golfers began their quest for a medal. Though the top four golfers in the world are not competing, it is still a loaded field, an should make for entertaining golf all week.

Marcus Fraser was incredible on Thursday, as the golfer from Australia shot an 8-under-63. He birdied the 18th hole to give himself a three-shot lead over the next best round at the midday point.

However, the biggest moment of the day came from Justin Rose, who made Olympic history. On the par-3, 197 yard 4th hole, Rose holed out, sinking the first hole-in-one in Olympic Golf history. Rose finished the day four-under, and has put himself in contention to make a serious run at a medal.

Canadian Graham DeLaet finished his round second on the leaderboard, carding a five-under-66. Right behind him is Henrik Stenson of Sweden, who recently became a major champion. Stenson set a major championship record with a score of 264, winning the 2016 Open Championship.
