4. Houston Astros

Houston has some impressive talent that is beginning to filter up from the minor leagues that are rejuvenating their offering at the MLB level. Perhaps Puig’s need to do the same personally would be a fit there as well.

There is a ton of fit between player and team style here, as the free swinging Puig would be just one of the boys in the never shy at the plate collection of current Astros. For the second year in a row, Houston finds themselves atop the American League in strikeouts, but also sitting in firing range for a postseason run.

Regardless of how this year finishes for the Astros, they are a team that profiles to continue to be on the incline in years to come. Puig would be a solid fit due to his versatility as an outfielder, capable of playing either corner spot and spending some time in center if needed as well. Outside of George Springer, who is entrenched in right field, Preston Tucker and Jake Marisnick currently occupy the Minute Maid Park outfield, now that the underwhelming Carlos Gomez has been designated for assignment. The Astros outfield could certainly yield some opportunity for playing time to see if Puig can recapture his early career form.
