4. Derek Dietrich

The Marlins don’t have a lot of outfield depth and that’s part of what makes the Giancarlo Stanton injury tough to handle. The good news however is that they have some utility guys that can play all over the field in a pinch. At this point, they’re going to have to and really platoon in Stanton’s spot.

One of those in-house options is Derek Dietrich. The utility player is having a nice year for the Marlins batting .281 and he is getting on base at a pretty decent clip. While he hasn’t had as many at-bats as the rest of his teammates, Deitrich has still had a decent amount.

Perhaps the best course of action is to get him more at bats as he is still a fairly young player at 27 years old. Rather than say going with the older option in Ichiro Suzuki, the Marlins can turn to someone that is currently a little more fresh.

He has proven in his at-bats this year that he can hit the ball and get on base. He’s not a power hitter, but the Marlins need someone that can produce some offense and get on base. It’s the band-aid of all band-aids, but they could do a lot worse than Dietrich.
