Neymar scored the game-winning goal for Brazil on Saturday and Twitter literally blew up
When it comes to the Olympic Games, we just love our moments that will live forever in history, whether it involves our country or not sometimes. On Saturday in Rio, we got one of those moments from one of the best soccer players on the planet, Neymar.
Saturday we were treated to the gold medal game in men’s soccer, pitting Brazil against Germany. Now we all remember what happened the last time these two met in the World Cup, so there narrative was there already. Now when you couple that with the fact that the Olympics are in Brazil this year, the drama was high enough to begin with.
Well, after a hard fought battle, the gold medal game came down to penalty kicks, and after a save from Brazil, it was all left on the shoulders of Neymar. Brazil had never won a gold medal, so how awesome would it be if they could snag their first not only at home, but with literally their biggest star carrying them. Well, that he did, and the stadium absolutely went bonkers.

Really, just think about that last tweet and let that sink in. On this day, Neymar has literally made himself one of the biggest legends in Brazilian history, as if he wasn’t there already to begin with. This is a moment that the people of the entire country will never forget, and he will be cemented in lore forever going forward.
