On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Le’Veon Bell dominated the NFL news.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have six Super Bowl Trophies. They were also the champions of the NFL news on Friday as two of the largest news stories of the day revolved around them.

In preseason action, Dak Prescott looked extremely impressive as he led the Dallas Cowboys to a win over the Miami Dolphins. He completed 12-of-15 passes for 199 passing yards with four total touchdowns (two passing and two rushing). Tony Romo looked sharp in his lone drive, completing four of his five passes for 49 yards. Kenny Stills scored two receiving touchdowns for the Miami Dolphins and Ryan Tannehill completed 12 of his 20 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

The Washington Redskins beat the New York Jets 22-18. Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick both struggled, but Bryce Petty was impressive with two touchdowns. Rashad Ross caught both of Colt McCoy’s touchdown passes. The San Diego Chargers shut out the Arizona Cardinals 19-0 and Chargers corner Brandon Flowers took a Carson Palmer pass to the house for the game’s lone touchdown.

Pittsburgh, again, received a bit of good news on Friday, as running back Le’Veon Bell had his four-game suspension reduced to just three games. Bell will stay in his current stage of the NFL’s substance abuse program, which means that his next suspension will be just four games as opposed to 10 games. The Steelers will get Bell back for their week four game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

James Harrison is quite the outspoken individual. It should come as a surprise to nobody that he believes that Roger Goodell is a crook. He will likely meet with the NFL but he wants the meeting to be live on television. Keep on fighting the man, James Harrison. Don’t let him get you down.

The New Orleans Saints have released defensive back Keenan Lewis. Injuries and some additions on defense made him expendable. Lewis was excellent before his injuries, but it just goes to show that NFL players are sometimes just one injury away from being cut.
