Full highlights and results from Becky Lynch, Carmella, and Naomi vs Natalya, Alexa Bliss, and Nikki Bella at WWE SummerSlam 2016

WWE’s brand extension and the move to Smackdown going live brought about a new women’s division on a redone show. As such, all of the women on the roster were left trying to figure out the pecking order and trying to earn their place on the card. That all started at WWE SummerSlam 2016.

Eva Marie was supposed to join Natalya and Alexa Bliss to face Becky Lynch, Carmella, and Naomi. However, her 30-day suspension made that impossible. As such, the heels were left needing a third partner. Lucky for them, Nikki Bella was ready to return and revealed herself to be the sixth woman in the SummerSlam tag match.

Naomi started off the match for the faces and gained the advantage early on. She looked to score a few early victories, but couldn’t get it done. When Carmella tagged in, though, her offensive attack was short-lived before she started getting torn apart. The heels then took turns wearing her down methodically.

After this went on for quite a while, including Nikki getting her returning offense and heeling off in, Carmella was finally able to roll out of the way of a kick to get to Becky Lynch. Lynch came in and started cleaning house. In fact, she took out all three of her opponents consecutively with springboard sidekicks in the corner.

However, things soon devolved in the ring. Lynch had to tag out and the faces then lost control. Before anyone knew what happened, all six women were in the ring duking it out. When the ring was cleared, though, it was only Nikki and Carmella left in the ring. After some brutal strikes, Nikki hit her new RKO finisher to pick up the big win for her team in her return.

Here’s a look at the highlights from this match:

It looks like Nikki Bella will be a part of the Smackdown brand. That makes sense considering that’s where John Cena is. Now we’ll get a chance to see where she stands on the new brand upon her return to the weekly show.
