Despite how seriously we tend to take them, sports area really just a wonderful escape from real life. Whether it is a stressful day at work or a fight with a loved one sports allow fans to forget about life for a few hours while rooting on their local team. Right now in Louisiana sports cannot even be that as floods have devastated the area and left many people without places to stay and belongings to call their own. The New Orleans Pelicans are trying to help change that.

For those unaware of the severity of the floods, the Red Cross named them the worst natural disaster to hit the country in four years. Considering that fact it is impossible to imagine the Pelicans ever gathering too much of any item to donate.

So please, if you have the ability donate some items to the Pelicans relief efforts. There are a lot of people down in Louisiana who somehow have kept their head up during these awful times. It is time to show them that it was not in vain. That there are people all around the country that are thinking and caring about them. The Pelicans are just leading the gathering efforts.
