Tim Tebow will have his MLB showcase workout on August 30.

Earlier this month, Tim Tebow’s agent announced that he wanted to pursue his dream of being an MLB player. Tebow hasn’t played baseball since high school but he will have a showcase for baseball teams on August 30.

It will be interesting to see if Tebow can play baseball at a high level after not playing since high school. He’s a very athletic man for sure and could probably be a decent pitcher. However, Tebow wants to be an outfielder. He’ll have to learn how to hit at a very high level if he wants to do that.

Here’s what former major league pitcher David Aardsma had to say about him after facing him.

"For not playing the game in over a decade, he had very good plate discipline and very rarely swung at pitches off the plate. I was expecting him to be coming out of his shoes almost every pitch, but Tim was very controlled with every swing and every at-bat.One of the most impressive things I saw is that even when Tebow swung and missed, he was right on the ball. He rarely got fooled by any pitch, and his adjustments were remarkable."

Aardsma has a 4.27 ERA in his career as a relief pitcher. It’s not like Tebow was facing Clayton Kershaw or Zach Britton. Aardsma has pitched in 331 major league games and is trying to make a comeback in 2017. Tebow impressed a guy who has had a nine year career in the majors. Aardsma wasn’t taking it easy either, as he was throwing in the low 90’s.

So maybe Tebow does have a chance of playing in the majors. He will likely get chances because he will draw crowds wherever he goes. Tebow also has what it takes to be a great locker room guy.
