13. Dallas Cowboys

13. player. 123.
If this surprises anybody, then they haven’t kept up on the situation surrounding the Dallas Cowboys over the past couple months. In that time their entire edge rush has been decimated. Greg Hardy was allowed to walk in free agency. Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory both received suspensions for league violations and now Gregory is considering rehab.

This doesn’t even consider the fact that neither of them can be classified as a true double digit sack threat. Dallas runs a scheme that requires a good front and they don’t have one. Not until they find an edge presence they can trust.

If they’re looking for a true 4-3 defensive end who knows how to get into the backfield, then Derek Barnett is their guy. At 6-foot-3 and 268 pounds he fits the dimensions for the position and finished with 10 sacks in 2015. He seems primed for an even bigger year.

Though he’s got size, that masks his flexible hips. Barnett can bend the edge well, boasting enough burst to get around a blocker to the quarterback. Combined with a strong lower body and good hands, it’s difficult for tackles to deal with him without committing a penalty. Give him to Rod Marinelli.
. DE. Tennessee. Derek Barnett
