CB. Florida. Jalen Tabor . 7. player. 57.
Rebuilding the defense has become the priority for this new Chicago Bears regime. Not surprising with John Fox in charge (former defensive coordinator) and Ryan Pace as GM (former defensive lineman). Together they’ve really done a solid job reloading the roster on that side of the ball, particularly in the front seven where Danny Trevathan, Jerrell Freeman, Akiem Hicks, Leonard Floyd and Jonathan Bullard are all new arrivals.

They should make a big difference in 2016. So the next logical step is moving to improve their secondary. One thing the team does not yet have? A true shutdown cornerback.

Part of the Vic Fangio defense is being able to play man-to-man on the outside so he can get creative with how the Bears bring pressure up front. Kyle Fuller isn’t a bad player but he hasn’t shown that sort of capacity so far during his time in the system. Tracy Porter is getting too old and behind them are a bunch of unknowns.

Jalen Tabor would be a boon for that team. He’s got every tool one could want for the job. He’s big enough, has long arms, moves fluidly in space and shows a clear ability to track the football in the air and make a play on it. Ask him to cover any receiver on the field and he’ll do it.
