7. University of Louisiana at Lafayette
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has always been one of my favorite college teams. They’re officially referred to as the Ragin’ Cajuns, and anything that reminds me of Bojangles has to be a wonderful thing. However, when I saw the school’s mascot, my happiness (and appetite) immediately disappeared.
The mascot, named Cayenne, has a hatred-fueled fire in its eyes.
Literally. There is literally fire in its eyes. There is no hope of turning back once you make eye contact.
I’ll never view a pepper the same way after seeing Cayenne. I will forever live in fear that the next pepper I see will flash its teeth and burn through my soul with its eyes. Kind of like a Taco Bell breakfast, now that I think of it.
