It’s fantasy football draft season, so get your Team D rankings for the 2016 season with the top 20 ranked below.

In fantasy football, defense doesn’t win you championships, but having the right Team D can be a boost to help you get a few wins.  Most fantasy football leagues rely on offensive players for almost all their fantasy points, but most incorporate the use of a team defense.  To see which defensive/special teams units are worth a look in your draft, check out my Team D Rankings in the chart below.

This season, FanSided is working with FantasyPros.com to give you access to some great tools to get ready for your draft. When you head over there you’ll find tools for mock drafts, cheat sheet creators, and even their draft assistant to walk you through your entire draft.

More from Fantasy Football

Every league scores team defense a little differently, so make sure you understand exactly what is being rewarded.  Most leagues use a blended approach of big-play rewards and limiting-opponents rewards.  Whether it’s yards or points allowed and whether special team touchdowns are counted as well are other factors to consider.

Using the chart blew, you can easily see each team’s bye week, so you know when you’ll have to get a replacement. You can also compare my rankings with the Expert Consensus Rankings and Average Draft Position provided by Fantasypros.
