At COD XP 2016, a global briefing revealed a bunch of new Call of Duty related announcements, including the multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

When Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was initially announced, fans of the Call of Duty series everywhere were extremely disappointed. With the YouTube video having over three million dislikes, it’s evident that developers Infinity Ward may have messed up.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that the game will be horrible. The backlash stems from the developers continuing to set their games in a futuristic setting. Starting with Advanced Warfare, the series introduced new mechanics, such as jetpacks, where players will spend most of their time jet-packing in the air as a new means of movement and although some embraced the new change, many clamored for a return to form.

With Black Ops III, developers Treyarch also returned to a futuristic setting. This installment was much more well-received since it combined the best of both worlds (jet-packing and traditional gameplay). But, fans still aren’t satisfied and they want their boots back on the ground.

It looks like they’ll have to wait a bit longer for that now that Infinite Warfare is imminent. But, to everyone’s surprise, the game looks great and the online multiplayer looks extremely fun. The multiplayer was revealed at the global briefing at COD XP 2016. They also revealed many other Call of Duty related news. Check it out below.

From the gameplay, it’s obvious that they’ll be returning to similar gameplay that we’ve already seen in Black Ops III, but there’s definitely new game mechanics and elements that make it a whole new experience. From the futuristic weapons, to the new movement that players will be able to utilize, it definitely looks unique and most importantly, enjoyable.

First of all, there seems to be a variety of new suits or classes to choose from and variety is always a good thing. Known as Combat Rigs, they are combat systems, with each one having different payloads and traits and each one caters to a different style of gameplay.

CEO of Activision says that it’s a whole new experience, but at its roots, it’s still the Call of Duty we know and love. To see more new features, such as new weapons, new modes and returning modes, check out the video below.

They also revealed some new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered details. The biggest news is that the developers will also be remastering all 16 original maps. The first 10 will release on launch day and the other six will release in December. Best of all, it will be completely free. Thanks to IGN, here’s the world premiere of the multiplayer.

Stay tuned to COD XP for the Call of Duty World League Championship. 32 teams across the globe will be competing for $2 million and the right to be called the best Call of Duty team in the world.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will launch on November 4, 2016.
