Lena Dunham mad at Odell Beckham for ignoring her at Met Gala
Lena Dunham is mad Odell Beckham Jr. was on Instagram instead of talking to her at this year’s Met Gala.
Lena Dunham has a lot of hobbies, I’m sure. Of all the things the HBO star enjoys in her spare time, her favorite pastime is, without question, making everything about herself. After fighting an arduous battle against cafeteria sushi, her latest target is Odell Beckham Jr. Apparently, the New York Giants wide receiver did not properly acknowledge Dunham’s greatness at this year’s Met Gala.
The Met Gala operates with a strict seating chart, and Dunham was seated next to Beckham. Instead of chatting with the TV star, Beckham fiddled with his phone and perused Instagram.
“I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr., and it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards,” Dunham said in an interview for Amy Schumer’s Lenny Letters. “He was like, ‘That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.’ It wasn’t mean — he just seemed confused.”
It should be noted that Dunham was wearing a very flattering tuxedo and glasses combination for the Gala that made her a dead ringer for Elvis Costello in his hey-day.
“The vibe was very much like, ‘Do I want to f*** it? Is it wearing a … yep, it’s wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone.’ It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie.”
There are a few things Dunham fails to acknowledge while throwing her latest social-justice temper tantrum. For starters, there is a very good chance that OBJ has never watched Dunham’s white-girl angst filled drama on HBO. Then, there’s the fact that Beckham has been romantically linked to Khloe Kardashian. In short, there is very little chance that Odell Beckham had any interest in a tryst with Lena Dunham, regardless of what she was wearing. On the flip side, if he had shown any interest in spending a lusty evening with her, it would have been an easy case of a rich athlete objectifying a helpless woman.
What we have here, is Dunham dragging Beckham into her own crusade against societal gender norms. For his own mental health, it’s best if Beckham just completely avoids getting dragged further into this rabbit hole. If he waits it out, Dunham will be onto her next cause in a few short weeks.
In the meantime, enjoy some of the best roasts of Dunham that Twitter has to offer.
Needless to say, the internet isn’t too fond of Lena Dunham.
